POSITION SUMMARY Our Apprentice Pipefitters possess the full series of knowledge required to lay out, assemble, set up, and preserve pipeline systems, pipe supports and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment for oil, steam, warm water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling and commercial production and processing systems. Workers are anticipated to support and participate in a “culture of security” and stick to and be ambassadors of Strike’s Code of Conduct and Values, and to deal with others with dignity, respect and fairness.

POSITION LOCATION/ DETAILS

  • Daily Living Allowance Per diem-based position Prince George BC or Mackenzie BC
  • Shift schedule: 16 days on/ 5 day of rests (9 hours per day with 1 hour of travel time) Note: During plant outages, hours will be increased to 11-12 hours each day.
  • Task sites will be based out of Summit Lake BC (approx. 35 minutes from Prince George) & & Mcleod Lake BC (approx. Thirty minutes from Mackenzie BC)
  • Shift Per diem paid once per shift for non-local workers

CORE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Read and analyze red-line construction illustrations and blueprints (Isometrics, P&ID’s, etc)
  • Assist journeyman pipefitters with the setup of devices, pipe and structural steel onsite
  • Assemble piping and valves in module and compressor bundle
  • Prepare pipeline and fittings for adding, hoisting, and rigging
  • Hydrotest, assemble and install pipe spindles in the fabrication facility
  • Step, cut, and thread pipeline to required shape
  • Install supports, valves, piping and control systems
  • Get rid of and change worn components and reactivate system

CREDENTIALS

  • Registered with the appropriate apprenticeship board as an apprentice pipefitter
  • Previous experience working as an apprentice in the oilfield market
  • Previous building experience
  • WHIMIS, CSTS, and Standard First Aid
  • Should effectively complete pre-employment alcohol and drug screening

UNDERSTANDING, SKILLS, & & ABILITIES Ability to lift

  • approximately 50 pounds and mean long periods of time
  • Capable of dealing with little tools
  • Efficient in working as part of a team
  • Fluent in speaking and reading English
  • Must have the ability to follow instructions
  • Previous experience and ticket operating bobcats, skid steer, or zoom boom considered a property
  • Fall protection, gas display training, restricted space, AWP trading tickets thought about a possession
