The Role: As a Health and Benefits Consultant, you will be at the forefront of managing projects for medium to large clients and take advantage of your experience as a benefits professional to make suggestions on strategy design and management on the full selection of health and advantages programs. You will take part in new service activities and the development of new intellectual capital. You will place yourself to grow into a senior relationship management and/or leadership role by serving as the essential point on all jobs and working alongside industry professionals on cutting edge options.
Responsibilities:
- Play a lead role in the design/management of group life, health, oral, impairment and time off plans for medium to large customers, including:
- Benefit plan analysis, style, cost savings and funding methods
- Vendor procurement, negotiation and optimization
- Incorporation of specialized health management, absence and disability management, pharmacy, data analytics and compliance techniques
- Serve as lead job manager and everyday contact for clients; materially contribute to forecast plan production and lead the team on
- delivery; make sure development against established goals, spending plans, timelines, deliverables and quality requirements
- Proactively encourage clients around service problems; develop and execute procedures and policies to improve general client delivery
- Maintain and cultivate strong provider relationships
- Assistance the generation of new company by taking part in prospecting chances with brand-new customers as part of a wider group
- Develop relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams
- Review analytical work, coach and establish Analysts and Senior Analysts
- Contribute to the development of brand-new intellectual capital
Requirements:
- 5 + years’ experience and success in the design/management of group health and well-being plans gained in a consulting or brokerage environment; alternatively, comparable experience in a consultative function acquired at a carrier or vendor
- Experience related to actuarial assessment/ accounting disclosures
- Partner of the Society of Actuaries and the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, Fellowship (FSA & & FCIA) classifications a possession
- Strong monetary abilities; prior experience in health and welfare
- item rates or underwriting chosen
- Tested experience creating project plans and successfully leading teams in execution of the project against strategy standards
- Demonstrated success in managing client concerns and relationships
- Desire and capability to broaden relationships with existing clients
- Polished and well established oral and written interaction skills
- Self-starter attitude and capability to work separately and as part of a group
- Versatility and shown ability to recognize and resolve issues
- Strong analytical, innovative and integrative skills
- Experience in training/mentoring junior staff
- Outstanding Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
- Schedule to travel on an as needed basis
- Bachelor’s degree needed, preferably with considerable quantitative coursework
- Life and Health license required within 90 days of joining
- CEBS designation, or health and welfare underwriting training preferred
