Our Disputes team prepares and defends complex financial analysis in connection with contested business/asset valuations, damage quantification, and other forms of forensic analysis.

The Disputes team is a component of PwC’s Forensic Services practice. A career in our Forensic Consulting Generalist practice, within Fraud, Investigations & Regulatory Enforcement (FIRE) services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients understand where they might have vulnerabilities and develop solutions to manage the risks involved. We prevent, respond to and remediate a wide range of business threats, risks and complex issues.

Our forensic specialists provide solutions and support for clients dealing with regulatory and crisis situations. As part of the team, you’ll help provide support to our clients who wish to investigate potential financial crime, support clients responding to regulatory enquiries, deal with cybersecurity breaches and provide expert advice and opinions in legal proceedings. You’ll also help clients review and remediate systems and controls to prevent further issues.

What to consider before applying

  • This role doesn’t support completion of the Canadian CPA designation.

  • As a requirement, a Secret Security Clearance is mandatory for all staff who will be engaged on these assignments. Purpose-led work you’ll be part of

As a Disputes & Litigation, Manager, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the design and development of well-supported financial analysis

  • Preparing high quality valuation or damage quantification reports for partner review

  • Regular communication of project status to internal and external stakeholders

  • Attend and participate in meetings with clients and their advisors

  • Support the development of junior team members

  • Assistance with quality control review to ensure quality of work product

  • Performing client pre-acceptance procedures including conflict checks and drafting engagement letters;

Experiences and skills you’ll use to solve

  • Excellent professional judgment, intellectually curious and strong analytical skills

  • University degree in business, accounting or finance

  • CA/CPA or equivalent accounting designation preferred

  • Working towards or recently attained Chartered Business Valuator designation with relevant work experience

  • Strong financial analysis/modeling skills and understanding of financial statements

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, counsel, or other parties

  • Marketing sense with interest and ambition to further grow and develop with the practice

  • A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, developing and coaching diverse teams, and ensuring diverse perspectives are heard.
