As a Warehouse Team Lead, you will play a crucial role on our distribution center leadership team. Your main responsibility is to support and guide the day-to-day operations of your department, delegating tasks, providing feedback, and following up on any outstanding issues. You will also be present on the distribution center floor, motivating and encouraging your team, and assisting with daily responsibilities such as picking, packing, processing, and shipping inventory.
A typical day in the role includes leading the department to meet specific company service level agreements, managing a team of 10-30 people, conducting and leading training, team building, meetings, and personal development. You will also act as a coach to Warehouse Associates, fostering their development through goal setting, coaching, and feedback. Additionally, you will manage the day-to-day staffing needs of your department, collaborate with other managers, and ensure safety in the workplace.
The qualifications for this role include a proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, 3 years of experience in a warehouse environment, the ability to lift up to 50lbs frequently, and the ability to obtain a powered industrial truck operator certification as needed. The schedule for this role is flexible and may include night shifts, working on holidays, and occasional weekend hours. You must also be comfortable with adapting to third-party technologies such as RF scanners, voice picking, and new systems, and comply with WCBC regulations by wearing steel toe boots and a high visibility vest while on the job.
