Position overview
The Marketing Coordinator, Education is responsible for the marketing support and administrative activities of the Marketing Communications department under the direction of the Senior Manager, Marketing & Communications. They execute a number of activities across a wide range of projects with a primary focus is on supporting the Education segment of the business working closely with members of the Marketing & Communications team and other departments as needed.

You will create marketing that resonates with the intended audience, handle the day-to-day management of Education marketing (teacher trainer programs, training centers, instructor support) across multiple channels like email marketing and support the creation and project management of campaigns that align with our marketing objectives. You will wear many hats as you work with multiple teams to support and drive strategy, copy and design, engagement with our social communities and analyze data for US and Canada, as well as international markets like Germany, the UK and Japan.
Major responsibilities
Education partner marketing and advertising support
Act as the main point of content for internal and external Education partners, collaborating to understand their needs, provide marketing collateral and other materials as needed
Monitor Marketing inbox to fulfill external partner requests for images and logos, review marketing materials and ensure brand guidelines are followed, as part of approval process
Help launch education products, develop company announcements, provide updates to branding standards/ guidelines and other communications to external partners
Work with others on the marketing team to brainstorm, create new materials and execute new campaigns to support partners across our channels such as our blog and social media
Provide support to Senior Manager on Education campaigns and initiatives, including project management, working with departments across the organization
General marketing
Lead or participate in other special projects and campaigns as required
Maintain updated marketing materials by working with the Design Team and others to execute content updates as needed
Coordinate charitable donations, product sample send outs or giveaways as required
e-Marketing
Create creative briefs and messaging for eblasts – e.g. corporate and Education partners’ (instructors, studios) enewsletters, product promotion emails, regionally-targeted communications– at times in multiple languages (working with Design Studio for translation)
Work with Email Marketing Specialist to inform build and deployment of eblasts using MailChimp
Maintain an updated email marketing calendar
Merrithew.com/Merrithew Connect (on demand workout platform)
Collaborate with Education and Senior Manager on creation of landing pages and other .com content for new products, and contribute to creation of workout collections on Merrithew Connect
Simple content enhancements and edits using Sitefinity CMS, including editing education pages
Ongoing monitoring of Education-related pages to ensure content is up-to-date and facilitating content updates and approvals when required
Social media
Monitor social media platforms to help identify brands and influencers to follow/like to support our objectives, trends relative to the Education environment and gather competitive intelligence
Collaborate with the Senior Social Media Specialist on creation of the monthly content calendar and content for all social media platforms, providing input from an Education-related perspective on potential topics and trends, content about our community and user-generated content
Be available as needed to as back up support to Senior Social Media Specialist
Utilize scheduling tools to support content uploading and scheduling
CRM, data and analytics
Pull, aggregate and report on data, including analysis and recommended actions to inform Education marketing activities and tracking of results of various marketing campaigns
Pull information on students and partners as needed
Skills and qualifications
University or College Degree in Marketing, Communications and/or a related field
Minimum 2-3 years of professional non-internship experience in marketing
Effective understanding of latest technologies and their application to marketing – including but not limited to, email marketing programs, social media management, analytics tools, etc.
Experience in a client-focused business with exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication and relationship building skills
Experience working within the fitness, health, wellness industries is preferred, but not mandatory
Positive, creative-thinker who is enthusiastic about their work, being a part of a team and working cross-functionally with a wide variety of people to tell our stories
Fun, strategic, confident (but not arrogant) and curious by nature: critically thinking about the business and implications of findings, highly motivated to spot opportunities and propose ideas
Energetic go-getter with a strong work ethic, personal integrity, an open and trustworthy attitude, professional and diplomatic with excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills
An attitude that they can tackle anything thrown their way and are excited by figuring out things they’ve never done before
High attention to detail and outstanding organizational and prioritization skills. Strong project and time management skills with the ability to manage a diverse workload, prioritise tasks and competing priorities while ensuring deadlines are met
Demonstrated proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
Experience with advertising production a strong asset
Basic knowledge of Mailchimp, MJML / HTML and Constant Contact an asset
