Purpose:
The IHE is hiring a Health Economist/ Mathematical Modeler to develop and carry out model based economic evaluations. The effective candidate will contribute to projects spanning IHE’s work program including: analysis of emerging, pre-market healthcare innovations (e.g., medical gadgets, digital tools); health innovation evaluation for with federal government stakeholders; and financial evaluation projects performed on behalf of non-profit organizations.
The effective candidate will belong to an unique research program producing strenuous evidence to support choice making. The prospect will be supported by a strong group consisting of Senior Health Economists, Project Coordinators, Evidence Synthesis Specialists, and Research Librarians.
Roles and Activities:
Specific duties consist of the following:
- Develop choice analytic models to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of health-care innovations and policies
- Conduct literature evaluations and critically evaluate research
- Deal with task partners to support the advancement and execution of jobs
- Interact results of analyses through research study reports for partners, manuscripts for publication in scientific journals, and discussions at conferences (poster and oral)
Qualifications
The perfect candidate would have the following qualifications:
- A graduate degree in Health Economics, or comparable topic with strong mathematical modelling skills.
- Experience in decision analytic modelling and health technology assessment
- Experience with modeling using Excel, TreeAge, or R (or similar)
- Strong time management abilities and attention to detail
- Outstanding writing, interaction, interpersonal, and critical thinking abilities
Extra consideration will be provided to candidates who have experience in infectious illness transmission models, along with candidates who, in addition to decision analytic modelling, have experience with econometrics.
Term:
The preliminary contract will be for two years, with potential to make long-term.
