The Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced that she will be travelling to Mexico City, Mexico, on November 15, 2021 and to Washington D.C. on November 17-18, 2021.
Minister Joly will meet with His Excellency, Marcelo Ebrard, Secretary of Foreign Affairs for the United Mexican States, for the first time as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
During her meeting, the Minister will highlight the importance of our countries’ partnership on mutual priorities such as, North American competitiveness and the importance of a concerted approach regarding the global challenges of our times such as climate change.They will also address indigenous reconciliation and feminist policies.
Minister Joly will also be participating in a roundtable discussion with Canadian Business Leaders, as well as a meeting with Indigenous Representatives.
Following her trip to Mexico, the Minister will join Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, in Washington, D.C., to participate in the North American Leaders’ Summit taking place on November 18, 2021.
