Postdoctoral Fellow in Medical Imaging Machine Learning

This position is funded by a 2-year academic/industry collaboration between Sunnybrook Research Institute and Siemens. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to be the machine learning technical lead on exciting academic and industry initiatives using a brand new state-of-the-art PET/CT scanner (Siemens Biograph Vision). The successful applicant will have an opportunity to build a strong relationship with Siemens while publishing impactful academic papers in the medical imaging AI space. The researcher will develop entire machine learning pipelines from data ingestion, cleaning, processing, and inference. The researcher will have access to nuclear medicine physicians, radiologists, PACS administrators, and computer scientists.

  • Requirements: PhD in computer or biomedical engineering, computer science, medical physics, or a related field with a research focus on biomedical image processing/medical image computing, machine learning, and/or computer vision
  • Demonstrated record of high-performance scientific programming with python and/or C++
  • Demonstration of personal ownership and technical leadership
  • Ability to work in small and large teams, highly adaptable to changing strategies and responsibilities
  • Great interpersonal communication, creative thinking, and problem-solving ability
  • Demonstrated record of high-quality publications in the field
  • Demonstrated analytical, verbal, and scientific writing skills
