The role of Solutions Analyst is fully remote within the UK. 

Primary Objectives 

The Solutions Expert serves as a link between customers, community relations, sales, product, and development teams. 

Responsibilities include scoping, demos, functional escalations, conduit into product management and new enhancements and releases, JIRA monitoring, and helping establish and train the team on best practices.

Major Accountabilities

Best Practices 

  • Consult with customers and the team on best business practices (supportable configuration, optimal product use, etc.)
  • How to use StarRez modules for specific needs/scenarios
  • Envision viable and sustainable workarounds that can be implemented to address special requirements
  • Build and demo test prototypes as proof-of-concept of specific solutions

Scoping (Work with the team and customers to utilize standards)

  • Non-standard interfaces (which we’re trying to eliminate)
  • Changes to existing custom interfaces (which we’re trying to eliminate)
  • Custom “tools” (i.e. special billing tools) scoping – new and changes (we’re trying to eliminate)
  • PortalX conversions
  • Assist in scoping cloud conversions
  • Reports (complex standard ones or non-standard)
  • Scope solutions using Data Subscriptions and other StarRez standard tools
  • Support customers scoping with their data needs (data loads, data management, data updates) 


  • Provide complex demos beyond account managers ability
  • Train CR & Sales to demonstrate new modules and features
  • Build prototypes & proof-of-concepts

Functional Escalations

  • Help diffuse and provide solutions for customer escalations when related to product “issues”
  • Support Account Managers with best positioning of product features and solutions
  • ‘Go-to’ resource for teams to review unique situations, escalations, or general problems and help the teams work through solutions and positioning

Product Management “Connection” 

  • Translate product management initiatives, releases, plans, programs, etc. for the benefit of the Sales teams and customers (i.e. release notes, release plans, product and features availability, etc.)
  • Represent the Sales teams and customer feedback, to Product Management and Development
  • Train the Sales teams on new releases, products, features and modules on a frequency agreed by Sales leadership
  • Support the Early Access Program, by identifying/Engaging customers for beta-testing, focus-groups, etc.

Jira monitoring 

  • Help monitor CA/CD/TECHHELP Jira jobs
  • CR and Sales focused – from product scoping, assessments, product priorities

Knowledge and Experience


  • Familiarity, usage, and knowledge of StarRez and products in prior roles or work history
  • Proven experience in a product-related role with in an agile software environment
  • A genuine interest in and broad understanding of technology 


  • Experience working in/with student housing and possibly higher education
