Promark-Telecon is looking for an energetic and career-minded individual to take on the role of Trainer, Utility Locates. This is a full-time position with Health Benefits and company match RRSP. This role requires frequent travel across Ontario.

The Trainer, Utility Locates will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing training and development programs aimed at growing the skills and abilities of our field staff. In addition, this person will play a key part in the orientation of new staff into the organization across all locations in Ontario.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, Develop and implement orientation and training programs for new hires.
  • Develop and implement training programs for existing field staff.
  • Develop creative and innovative approaches to present training programs.
  • Develop training programs for skill enhancement, performance improvement, career development, etc.
  • Prepare, maintain, and deliver training course materials.
  • Measure and evaluate the results of training and maintain records of training.
  • Plan and schedule trainings on regular basis, evaluate training programs and recommend improvements.
  • Ensure that training material and information are always updated and available.
  • Collaborate across departments to identify relevant training needs.
  • Collaborate with senior staff on industry, LAC, and company requirements.
  • Maintain training equipment and supplies in safe and good working conditions.
  • Reserve training rooms and set-up training equipment for conducting training programs.
  • Preparing a hard copy of training material such as module summaries, presentations, videos, etc.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience conducting training sessions in front of large groups.
  • Prior experience developing training programs.
  • Prior experience in the construction industry an asset.
  • Must be independent and a self-starter.
  • Understanding of effective teaching methodologies and tools.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and public speaking skills.
  • Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite of Products.
  • Ability to travel across Ontario frequently
  • Valid G license with clean driver’s abstract
  • Able to successfully complete a criminal background check
  • Strong knowledge of proper field practices and procedures
  • Must have a positive attitude
  • Highly proficient in time management and excellent communication skills
  • Willingness to adopt new training techniques incorporate teaching.
